Today the weather was perfect for IR (Impulse Response) recordings. Lot of fresh snow in the forest and not much wind… and only about -10C. Which is acceptable when operating with bare hands. Can’t wait to hook these IR’s in to the Wwise project to hear them in action.

For people who are not familiar with IR’s. In my case, they are basically audio impulses modelling the reverberation of the location they were recorded at. The results can be then used to simulate the location either in DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) or in a middleware (like wwise). I used loud explosions as the source sound as they create suitable reverb-tails to capture.
